Job Summary
The Department of Bioengineering, Civil Engineering, and Environmental Engineering at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) invites applicants for multiple open-rank faculty positions, starting January 2027. We seek individuals with enthusiasm for teaching and a desire to engage students in the classroom and laboratory on subjects primarily in civil and environmental engineering.
This is an open and broad search intended to attract a highly qualified pool of candidates. While areas of emphasis are listed below, applicants with expertise in related, emerging, or interdisciplinary areas of civil and environmental engineering are strongly encouraged to apply. Rank will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
Areas of emphasis:
- Geotechnical Engineering (CEE-01)
- Environmental Engineering (CEE-02)
- Infrastructure and Community Resilience (CEE-03)
Job Description
Typical duties may include but are not limited to: Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate civil and environmental engineering courses; scholarship and professional development appropriate to rank; service within the university and professional community; maintaining ABET accreditation tasks; mentoring student organizations.
