Open Rank Faculty, Educator - SHRP Occupational Therapy
The Department of Occupational Therapy at the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s School of Health Related Professions is seeking a full-time faculty member to join our dedicated team. Candidates should have a desire to engage in teaching, scholarship, and service for the Department of Occupational Therapy as well as the profession at large; however, the emphasis for this faculty position will be teaching in the Doctor of Occupational Therapy Program. We are looking for individuals to teach across all areas of the curriculum, and serve as a student research and capstone advisor.
About the Department: Founded in 1985, the mission of the Department of Occupational Therapy at UMMC is to serve the residents of Mississippi through the provision of competent occupational therapists who offer holistic, client-centered, evidence-based care that is grounded in occupational performance. These therapists shall exemplify professionalism, leadership skills, and a desire for lifelong learning in order to meet the expanding societal needs found in dynamic and diverse practice settings across populations. The doctoral level occupational therapy program accepts 40 students per cohort each summer, and the in-person curriculum requires nine semesters of full-time study, including three full-time experiential learning courses (i.e., two 12-week courses and one 14-week course). The entry-level program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE).
