Open Rank of OBGYN, Urogynecology (req32404)

At the University of New Mexico, we celebrate our tradition of inclusion and recognize that our success as an institution depends on its ongoing renewal. As such, the University of New Mexico places a high priority on creating an academic environment that fosters the success of ethnic minorities. The University of New Mexico, School of Medicine and Health Sciences Center is seeking a candidate that will contribute actively to the climate of diversity & inclusivity. We invite applications for a faculty position in the Division of Urogynecology. This is an open rank, open track full-time faculty position in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. UNM's Urogynecology Division has an established fellowship, has a busy clinical practice, and is active in research and education.

The successful incumbent will be involved with clinical teaching and clinical research at clinics on and off campus. The division is host of an accredited Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery Fellowship, with a primary objective to train well-rounded, subspecialist physicians who are experts in surgical anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology of the pelvic floor. With the guidance and collective experience of our faculty, fellows develop teaching and research expertise in pelvic floor disorders to assist in the development of successful and productive academic careers. The Division of Urogynecology is also home of a dedicated pessary clinic focused on the care of women with prolapse and incontinence who prefer non-surgical treatment of their pelvic floor dysfunction. Additionally, the Division of Urogynecology also welcomes creative research opportunities with a team of research coordinators to aid in these adventures. To fulfill this position, we are seeking a highly motivated, well trained, academic focused physician. The incumbent hired will be expected to participate in the education and surgical training of medical students, residents and fellows in the clinic, classroom, and operating room, and will provide additional surgical opportunities for training residents and fellows. A demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.

The University of New Mexico, Health Sciences Center is the largest academic health complex in the state. HSC combines its four mission areas - education, research, patient care and community outreach - to provide New Mexicans with the highest level of healthcare. The School of Medicine at HSC is celebrated for its innovations in medical education and has earned a reputation for making diversity in the physician workforce a priority. The lifestyle is also very attractive: Albuquerque, a beautiful city with mountains to the east and a mesa to the west, is renowned for its fantastic weather. Outdoor activities are abundant and the cost of living is moderate, while offering all the amenities of a large city. The State of New Mexico is multicultural and diverse with excellent local cuisine, breathtaking sunsets, multiple cultural and historic sites, lakes, rivers, deserts and mountains.

The successful incumbent must meet the listed minimum requirements and provide a current curriculum vitae at the time of application. This position offers a competitive compensation (salary commensurate with experience) and benefits package to include health, professional liability and disability insurance, relocation support, retirement plan, and CME support.
