Open Rank Tenure-Track Translational Bioinformatics and Comparative Medicine Data Analytics
Position Summary
TRANSLATIONAL & COMPARATIVE MEDICINE DATA ANALYTICS DIVISION The Translational and Comparative Medicine Data Analytics Division Director will build computational infrastructure, workflows, methods and pipelines to advance promising therapeutic candidates to clinical trials. This will be achieved through the integration of organoid phenotypes and tumor behavior, single-cell and spatial omics, and comparative clinical datasets to generate prospective, cross-species predictions. The Division Director will also establish a reproducible analytics infrastructure (program code, version-controlled pipelines, model repositories) with data governance aligned to FAIR principles and regulatory expectations and apply best methods to directly address the biological and clinical questions. The infrastructure is designed to foster interdisciplinary teams to build pipelines for biomarker discovery, response classification, implement external validation across species, and build novel methods for patient stratification and indication selection or expansion for clinical trial design. This will include optimal target populations/patient segmentation, predictive biomarkers, safety biomarkers, and mechanisms of drug resistance/combination strategies leveraging existing data. The director will be expected to build a data science and bioinformatics team, that will collaborate with UGA investigators to build a technology infrastructure, platforms, and informatics tools that will enable scalable, efficient, and compliant infrastructure for clinical and translational research. The development of a data driven learning system that will accelerate translation, reverse translation and patient insights together for meta-analysis to advance therapeutics.
