The University of Queensland is seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented Operations and Administration Officer to support the end-to-end administration of research grants within the UQ Research Office.
In this role, you will provide essential operational and administrative support across the full research grant lifecycle, working closely with internal teams and stakeholders across the University to ensure accurate data management, compliance with governance requirements, and timely delivery of key research activities.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide high-quality operational and administrative support across the full lifecycle of research grants, including internal funding rounds and pre- and post-award activities for externally funded grants.
- Maintain accurate and compliant research grant data through timely data entry, validation and quality assurance within University research management systems to support reporting and decision-making.
- Support the delivery of governance and operational activities by maintaining Research Office websites, systems and shared platforms (including SharePoint and MS Teams), ensuring content is current, consistent and fit for purpose.
- Assist in the review, monitoring and continuous improvement of research administration processes, documentation and resources, working collaboratively with Research Office teams and stakeholders across the University.

About You
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in administrative or operational roles, with the capability to quickly develop expertise in research administration within a higher education environment.
- High level of computer proficiency and confidence working with corporate systems, databases and Microsoft Office applications, particularly in managing and validating data.
- Exceptional attention to detail and well-developed analytical skills, including the ability to accurately interpret policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Strong written, interpersonal and oral communication skills, enabling effective engagement with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- Proven organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A professional approach characterised by integrity, discretion and diplomacy when handling confidential information and working with internal and external clients.
The successful candidate may be required to complete a number of pre-employment checks, including right to work in Australia and a criminal check.
