Parking Specialist
Job Summary
This position is responsible for enforcing parking regulations in university lots Monday - Friday 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM and occasional weekends.
Responsibilities
Operations - 10%
To support the various day-to-day parking operations of Parking and Transportation Services. This includes, but is not limited to, the following: parking enforcement, assisting customers, managing parking accounts, answering phones, delivering messages to office personnel when necessary, interacting and communicating with university students, employee and guests who are conducting parking-related business, placing cones, barricades, and signage to reserve parking, restrict parking, and/or redirect lot traffic, conducting parking utilization surveys, inventorying parking spaces, providing parking support for university events, recording parking utilization, Vehicle and Fleet preventative maintenance, identifying safety and maintenance issues in university parking lots, conducting etc.
Compliance - 85%
To enforce parking regulations in university lots as directed by the parking plan, policies and operations of Parking and Transportation Services and to support the overall parking operations of Parking and Transportation Services.
Other - 5%
Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One to three years work experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Four to six years work experience OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

- Ability to use technology, including the mobile device and applications used for ticketing and communication and the mobile ticket printer.
- Ability to use online parking management system and related technology.
- Ability to consistently and accurately enforce parking regulations.
Knowledge
- Knowledge of parking regulations, plans, policies, and operations of Parking and Transportation Services.
- Knowledge of Georgia College parking lot designations, permit types, and citation types.
- Knowledge of Georgia College campus.
Skills
- Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must possess strong customer service skills.
- Must possess basic computer and technology skills and be able to be trained on related computer and technology skills.
