Job Description:

SUNY Broome Community College is seeking qualified candidates for part-time adjunct instructors to teach in-person composition classes during the day in the English Department for Spring 2026.

Applications for Adjunct Instructor positions are accepted on a continuous basis. Candidates are contacted and hired as opportunities arise, depending on the college's needs.

Requirements:

• A Master's degree in English, rhetoric, composition, or in a closely related field is required.
• Teaching experience is required, preferably at the community college level.
• Experience with Brightspace preferred.
• Applicants should be comfortable in the learner-centered classroom and have a strong commitment to the community college mission.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States without a visa sponsorship.

Candidates should have experience teaching first-year composition courses at the college level and be familiar with current writing theory and practice. They should have a demonstrated interest and ability in the use of alternative and innovative teaching methods and familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom.

Additional Information:

Offers of employment will be conditional based upon the results of a satisfactory, required pre-employment Standard Background Check.
