Part-Time Computer System Networking Instructor
Northland Community and Technical College seeks a temporary-part time Computer System Networking Instructor dedicated to excellence in teaching, who desires to become part of a creative, vibrant, student-centered learning community. This position will work on the East Grand Forks Campus. The successful candidate will demonstrate a commitment to interdisciplinary and cross-cultural perspectives. Salary Range: $43,067 - $94,542. Part-time faculty salaries are based on an evaluation of education and related experience after a job offer has been accepted. Initial Step placement is limited per the MSCF contract. For more information, please visit the collective bargaining agreement between Minnesota State College Faculty (MSCF) and the State of Minnesota. Salary will be commensurate with education and experience.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education Requirement: Associate Degree in a computer or information technology field.
- Occupational Experience Requirement: Four full-time years (or equivalent) of verified related paid work experience in networking, network administration, cybersecurity, or forensics.
- Recency Requirement: One year of this work experience shall be within the five years immediately preceding the date of application for the credential field. The recency requirement shall be waived if the individual has two years of successful full-time (or equivalent) postsecondary teaching experience in the credential field within the last five years.
- Teaching and Learning Competency Requirement: Course construction (credit course), teaching/instructional methods (credit course), student outcomes assessment/evaluation (credit course), philosophy of community and technical college education (credit or non-credit course). Faculty shall have a degree in education or three years of successful full-time (or equivalent) teaching experience prior to being hired, or shall be required to complete coursework in the above content areas (or their equivalent) prior to being granted unlimited status. These courses shall be waived for individuals who at the time of hire have: a degree in education, or have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework in the specified teaching and learning content areas, or have three years of successful, full-time (or equivalent) secondary, postsecondary, industry, or trade apprenticeship teaching experience in the field for which they are being hired. This course shall be waived for individuals who, at the time of hire, have documented evidence of successful completion of equivalent coursework.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or higher in related field.
- Have a minimum of two years’ experience teaching.
- Coursework in teaching pedagogies and preparation in principled and methods of evaluation.
- Demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population.
- Be knowledgeable about methods of instruction, testing and evaluation of students.
- Demonstrated ability to teach using technology in the classroom and/or online course delivery.
Other Requirements
In accordance with the Minnesota State Vehicle Fleet Safety Program, employees driving on college/university business who use a rental or state vehicle shall be required to conform to Minnesota State's vehicle use criteria and consent to a Motor Vehicle Records check.
