Pay Range: $1,440 - $1,700 per credit hour
Pay Determination: Salary offers at Syracuse University will be based on education, experience, and relevant skills, as well as the academic or professional discipline of the position in the context of the home department, school, or college. Salary offers may also be influenced by prior relevant work or industry experience, where applicable. Faculty pay ranges are for 8.5 months salary unless otherwise specified.

Job Description:
The Department of Drama within the College of Visual and Performing Arts seeks a Part-Time Instructor to teach DRA 400 Selected Topics - Advanced Screen Acting, a three credit hour course as part of the Tepper Semester in New York, during the Spring semester, 2026.
This class prepares the actor for on-camera auditioning after graduation. Actors will learn how to review/refine the basics of on-camera acting technique and to cultivate participation in the visual components of on-camera storytelling.

Qualifications:
- Experience working on camera across multiple formats, including film, television, commercials, and streaming media
- Advanced degree in acting or extensive professional acting experience
- Minimum of four years of teaching experience in a higher education setting
Job Specific Qualifications: Experience and knowledge of teaching on camera technique and understanding of most recent industry trends.
Responsibilities: Teaching a weekly three hour session. Giving students continuous feedback and grading their course work.
In addition:
- Developing and/or updating a class syllabus.
- Preparation of lectures, projects or other student assignments.
- Maintaining regularly scheduled office hours.
- Presenting instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course.
- Meeting all designated class periods.
- If you are unable to meet your class due to illness or emergency, you should exercise your best effort to reschedule the class or to obtain a substitute.
- You must also notify the department chair of your absence and of your plan to cover the class.
- Submitting completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University regulations.
- Grading student assignments and exams in timely manner.
- Providing departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations.
- Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
