Clinical Faculty - Theatre
The Department of Theatre Arts at the University of Idaho invites applications for a remote, full-time, Clinical Assistant Professor of Theatre with expertise across a wide range of graduate-level theatre subjects. This non-tenure track position will begin Fall 2026 with a 3/4 teaching load.
Primary Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate courses in several of the following areas:
- Shakespeare Scholarship: including pedagogy, history, and rigorous text analysis
- Feminist Theatre Practice: encompassing drama literature, theatre history, and contemporary intersectional feminist directing
- Directing: history, theory, and applied practice
- Theatre Pedagogy: including culturally responsive and trauma-informed approaches, Shakespeare pedagogy, and bootleg/fugitive pedagogical practices
- Theatre for Social Change: such as Theatre of the Oppressed, Playback Theatre, applied theatre history and theory, practice, and program design
Additionally, the candidate will be expected to participate in student recruitment activities, and unit, college and university-level governance.
Other duties as assigned by the Department Chair.
Teaching Modality:
- Must be able to teach remotely in both synchronous and asynchronous formats
- Familiarity with Canvas Course Management System is strongly preferred
