"Part-Time Faculty: Intermediate Yoga (Fall 2025)"

Job Description

The School of Education at Syracuse University is looking for an individual to teach PED 301 - Intermediate Yoga (1 credit).

Course Description: Continuation of PED 201. Application of knowledge and skills in the practice of postures, breathing techniques, and simple meditation. Body awareness, incorporating strength, flexibility, and balance.

Qualifications

Bachelors degree and college teaching experience preferred.

Job Specific Qualifications

Discipline-specific certification required. 200 hours minimum as recognized by Yoga Alliance.

Responsibilities

• Develop/update the course syllabus in accordance with SOE standards.
• Ordering in advance books and materials for students in the class to purchase on or before the first day of classes.
• Preparing for classes.
• Holding office hours each week for students in the class and others.
• Grading in a timely manner student assignments and examinations for the course.
• Completing CAEP competency assessment reports (if required).
• Turning in mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to University standards.
• Building a positive rapport with students and other faculty.
• Other responsibilities as indicated.

Physical Requirements

Demonstrate the physical skills required to lead students through the appropriate activity.
