The El Camino Community College District is now accepting applications for anticipated part-time faculty positions for the 2026 fall semester.
This is a clinical teaching position only
The two-year Associate Degree Nursing Program, approved by the Board of Registered Nursing prepares students for entry-level employment as registered nurses in hospitals and community settings. Teaching assignments will be available in the medical/surgical, mental health, obstetrics, and pediatric clinical areas of the program. Faculty will be responsible for supervising students in clinical learning experiences, campus-based nursing practice labs, seminar groups, and nursing simulation labs during the first or second year of the program. Faculty may have lecture and/or clinical teaching assignment in more than one course. Part-time faculty assignments may consist of up to 67% of a full-time faculty load.
Faculty job responsibilities include the development/review of curriculum and assessment of learning outcomes to improve teaching and learning in achieving El Camino College's mission of institutional effectiveness, quality educational programs, and vibrant student support services.
Faculty assignments may include morning, afternoon, evening, or weekend hours. Dual enrollment, distance education, on-line or hybrid with required distance education certification assignments are voluntary. For faculty who are interested in teaching online or hybrid courses, completion of El Camino College's distance education certification process is required or submission of a waiver with evidence of prior certification to develop and teach quality online courses.
Faculty may participate in initiatives set forth by the College that support students to achieve their educational goals through collaborations with employers, advisory committees, industry/trade groups, universities, high schools, or other partnerships with related instructional disciplines.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's in nursing AND two years of full-time experience; OR
The equivalent - Candidates not possessing the required qualification(s) as stated on this announcement must complete the Request For Equivalency Form as part of the application process to explain in detail how their qualifications are equivalent to those above; OR
Valid California community college instructor credential in appropriate subject issued prior to July 1, 1990 (per California Education Code 87355); AND
Valid California Registered Nurse License or eligibility for California Licensure as a registered nurse, AND
Evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the racial, socio-economic, academic, and cultural diversity within student populations, including students with disabilities, as these factors relate to the need for equity-minded practices.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Recent teaching in community college or clinical experience in an acute care facility demonstrating expertise in medical-surgical, mental health, obstetric and/or pediatric nursing.
Recent experience in more than one nursing discipline area is highly desirable.

SALARY:
Part-time faculty are compensated on a semester basis according to the number of class hours assigned per semester and on cumulative semesters of instruction for the District. The beginning rate is, $110.17 - $1134.02 (lecture), $83.51 - $101.55 (lab), (based on PT salary schedule fall/spring) per hour depending on education and experience.
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a part-time, faculty position for the Nursing program, beginning fall 2026. Assignments may include off-site locations.
