This is a part-time faculty pool for available assignments during the academic year. Applications are considered throughout the year and reviewed based on department need.

Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Functions include Instruction, Course Management & Student Success, Instructional Program Responsibilities, Teaching and Learning Values, and Institutional Expectations.

• Teaches classes as assigned, following current approved course outlines.
• Prepares and develops materials for assigned classes/labs.
• Provides students with class syllabi.
• Maintains student records of grades and attendance.
• Responds to student inquiries and provides feedback in a timely manner.
• Maintains timely communication with college program and supervisor.
• Creates a learning climate of mutual respect and fairness.
• Embraces diversity and actively collaborates effectively with a variety of students, staff, and the public.

Candidate Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Certification showing mastery in areas such as Cardio & Core, Pilates, etc., along with teaching or coaching experience and personal participation experience.

Core Competencies: Commitment to college-level health and human performance, culturally responsive instruction, and effective teaching to adult learners.

Preferred Qualifications: Associates Degree, experience teaching physical education classes, experience in a community college setting, and bilingual English/Spanish.

Terms of Employment: Requires flexible work schedule, belongs to the bargaining unit, and begins at Step 1. Official transcripts required upon hire. Background inquiry may be conducted.
