Responsibilities

Department Summary

The Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration seeks applicants for a part-time (adjunct) position in Healthcare Administration (HCAD). This position is filled on a 'as-needed' basis, and it is not a full-time appointment.

The position will be housed in the Department of Economics, Finance and HCAD in the Harley Langdale, Jr. College of Business Administration (LCOBA) at Valdosta State University. The department currently has 14 full-time faculty members. It offers traditional Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degrees in Applied Economics, Finance and HCAD. LCOBA also offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree. Students may also choose to pursue several different minors and certificate programs. This incumbent will teach in the undergraduate programs.

Required Qualifications

Required Experience

  • A master's degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA or equivalent) from an AACSB (or equivalent) accredited university. Specifically, applicants must have completed at least 18 hours at the master's level in field of teaching.
  • Established candidates must have a demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. Those seeking employment in higher education for the first time must commit to establishing and maintaining those same standards of excellence in teaching and learning.

Preferred Experience

  • Applicants should be able to work effectively and collaboratively with colleagues. In particular, we are seeking candidates who are both willing and able teach on campus face to face classes and/or online courses.
  • Applicants should also have a demonstrated record of mentoring students.

Conditions of Employment

Position Requires completion of VSU's Annual Compliance Training course (such as State Business Transactions, Drug Free Workplace, Anti-Harassment Policy, Introduction to Information Security, Workers Compensation, Motor Vehicle Policy, USG Ethics Policy, Conflict of Interest/ Outside Activities Policy, Leave Procedures for Faculty and Staff, Georgia Open Records Act, Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), and Contracts 101. Supervisory positions require training in FMLA and Worker's Compensation.
