Part-Time Instructor, Journalism - FY 2026
Core Responsibilities:
- Teach Journalism course content.
- Evaluate students' written work and student news stories.
- Administer department exams.
- Post information to Learning Management Software (CANVAS).
- Complete assessment assignments.
- Teach news writing, research skills, interviewing skills, and news gathering techniques.
- Submit semester documents including, but not limited to, syllabus, exams, gradebooks, attendance, and participation rosters.
- Willingness to teach courses in-person at multiple campus locations.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Journalism, Communication, Communication Studies, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- Experience teaching journalism.
- 15 credits of graduate coursework in Journalism, Media Studies, Communication, Mass Communication, OR equivalent terminal degree with experience in Journalism.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 30 credits of coursework in Journalism, Communication, Mass Communication, or a related field.
- Two years' experience teaching college journalism courses.
Salary Information:
$925 per course IU
