"Part-Time Instructor Pool - Journalism"

Provide quality instructions, create and maintain an environment which emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages free discussion of ideas, interests and issues. Primary duties of part-time faculty members are related to curriculum and teaching; the assignment is divided between lecture and lab classes as determined by the department. Part-time instructional faculty are required to be available to students outside of class.

Teach lower-division courses, which at this writing include mass media, news writing and reporting, photojournalism, public relations and creative non-fiction. Provide a student-centered environment that emphasizes teaching and learning and encourages critical thinking. Course assignment and scheduling are determined by the department chair. Required to be available to students outside of class for one hour for every three hours of in-class time.
