Part Time Instructor - Music
Nevada State University actively maintains an open pool of qualified individuals to be selected on an as-needed basis by the department to fulfill part-time temporary instructional needs and applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.
Nevada State invites applications for an open pool of adjunct faculty for in-person courses in Music. The courses will primarily be introductory courses, but the curriculum may include some upper-division coursework as well. All courses will be in the area of music appreciation or a study of the history, culture, and aesthetics of music; there are no current courses in music performance or composition.
Applications will be considered on an as-needed basis determined by course availability.
Adjunct faculty members are compensated at the rate of $1,160 per credit hour. Courses are typically 3 credits.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Music or closely related field.
- Evidence of a strong commitment to teaching, educational excellence, and mentoring undergraduate students.
- Eligibility to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Ph.D. or Ed.D. in Music, or closely related field.
- Demonstrated commitment to active learning and innovative teaching.
- Previous teaching experience.
