Part - Time Instructor, Nursing - FY 2026
Job Description
Responsibilities of a part-time Nursing Instructor include but are not limited to:
- Teaching college-level courses in the field.
- Develop syllabi and course materials.
- Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
- Provide an excellent teaching experience as well as student advisement, recruitment activities, and program/curriculum development.
- Assignments may be multi-campus with the possibility of day, evening and/or weekend classes.
Please Note: This job announcement is not an offer of employment. It will be open for a period of one year and has been established to collect a robust candidate pool for part-time positions that may become available within the designated discipline at CSN. If a part-time position becomes available within the discipline, the department will review the application material of the candidates who have applied and will invite select candidates to interview based on their qualifications. Should a candidate be selected for a part-time instructor position, no minimum course load is guaranteed and teaching assignments, if any, are contingent upon various factors, including but not limited to, minimum student enrollment and/or department need. No reimbursement for travel expenses will be provided to local or out of area/out of state candidates and there is no guarantee of continued or future part-time and/or full-time employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience as an educator.
- Experience with evaluation and assessment methods used within nursing education programs.
Required Qualifications:
- BSN from a regionally accredited college or university with five (5) years of experience in specialty area within past seven (7) years (expected to be enrolled in or be enrolled within in one (1) year in a Master's of Nursing program).
- OR Master's in nursing from a regionally accredited college or university.
- OR Masters in Health Related Field and a BSN from a regionally accredited college or university.
- Unencumbered Nevada RN license.
- Clinical experience.
- Interest in teaching either LPN or RN students.
Salary: $925 per credit for lecture per semester and $46.25 per hour for lab/clinical
