Who are we?
The Global Learning team is responsible for incoming and outgoing global learning programs. The teams coordinate international study experiences outside Australia for Deakin students including exchange, summer programs, global experiential learning, and encourages students from overseas institutions to undertake a period of study at Deakin, either on Exchange or in a Study Abroad program. The Global Learning team oversees and administers the policy that govern international study experiences and manages all risk management in relation to international students
As a Coordinator, Inbound Deakin Abroad, you will:
- Contribute to the coordination and promotion of Deakin University's global learning programs and activities, including exchange and study abroad programs, study tours and international internships, volunteering, and global citizenship programs.
- Provide ethical advice and information to prospective incoming and outgoing students, including accreditation requirements for local and overseas courses that address underlying issues, promoting value-adding insights and recommendations.
- Manage the administration of incoming and outgoing applications for all mobility programs.
- Coordinate internal and external client relationships and provide secretariat duties for the Global Learning Unit relating to international partnerships, alumni networks and ambassadorial relations.
- Draw on a diverse range of people, groups and resources to identify new or improved opportunities, processes and ways of doing things to enhance organisational strategy.
To be successful, you’ll have:
- Extensive experience and specialist knowledge or broad knowledge in technical or administrative fields
- An equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a constructive team member in a busy workplace
- Effective time management and administrative skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of, or capacity to acquire understanding of, issues relating to course structure and credit transfer within higher education systems in Australia and abroad
- An international focus with awareness of, and sensitivity to, cultural differences
