Payroll Practitioner 1, Administration & Finance, Hybrid
Job Overview
Assist management in completing assigned activities to produce payroll results for 17,000+ University employees. Communicate professionally with employees and co-workers. Become familiar with University policies and procedures and apply them to job duties.
Essential Functions
- Deliver customer service to employee and partner requests for information in a timely and accurate manner.
- Validate data from a variety of sources, input into the payroll system and verify for correctness.
- Process bi-weekly, monthly, and off-cycle payroll runs; then submit the associated ACH/check files to the University’s partner banking institution as a backup.
- Report on results for tax entities.
- Reconcile tax payments.
- Maintain employee confidentiality of personal information.
- Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.
Required Education
High School Diploma or GED
Required Experience
- Two (2) years of payroll experience.
- Experience with the core Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and an aptitude to utilize these tools daily.
Additional Qualifications Considered
- Prior customer service experience.
- FPC Designation.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
