"PBX Operator - Hospital"

Location: St. Mary's (Occasional Coverage at St. Francis)

The duration for this role approximately 3 months in duration.

Join UCSF Health as the voice that connects patients, families, staff, and the community. As a PBX Operator, you'll manage high-volume calls, route urgent communications, and support emergency response procedures that directly impact patient care and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

Telephone & Communication Operations

• Operate Meridian PBX Console or Cisco phone systems.
• Answer and route incoming calls with professionalism and empathy.
• Provide limited patient information in line with hospital policy.
• Manage local/long-distance calls for staff.
• Respond to emergency lines, code phones, and disaster protocols.
• Perform alpha-numeric paging during emergency activations.

Database & Records

• Maintain accurate physician contact listings.
• Keep incident/trouble logs up to date.

Administrative Support

• Assist with special projects and departmental initiatives.
• Update on-call schedules and other information during evening/night shifts.
