Summary: Support the Project on Civic Dialogue’s programming, including through event planning, communications and marketing, dialogue facilitation, research, and program design.

Essential Functions:

• Learn and share principles of civic and academic dialogue.
• Plan events for undergraduates, prospective students, and AU community that integrate dialogue across differences, civic engagement, depolarised communication, collaborative learning, academic freedom, and freedom of expression.
• Promote PCD programming and curricular offerings.
• Support Faculty Director and Staff Coordinator in developing and implementing curricular and cocurricular offerings that integrate dialogue into SPA and AU.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Part-time. 10 expected hours per week.

Salary Range: $17.95 per hour.

Required Education and Experience: Demonstrated interest in civic dialogue. Students in good academic standing at American University.

Preferred Education and Experience: PCD welcomes students with varied experiences. No prior work experience is necessary, but we encourage interested students to reflect upon the role that dialogue has played in prior jobs and to share this insight with their peers.
