Position Summary: The primary objective of the Peer Educators is to promote education, safety and awareness by facilitating discussions and workshops on social issues such as dating, sexual health, and healthy relationships. Peer Educators are trained to provide educational programs that raise awareness, provide information, resources, and referrals. Peer Educators inform their peers about college lifestyle and wellness issues in a positive, interactive, fun, and nonjudgmental manner. Peer Educators are dedicated to providing education and community support with sensitivity to race, gender, sexual orientation, culture, religion, and individual capabilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: The following are the functions essential to performing this job: · Attend all trainings/meetings required for Peer Educators.· Use web-based tools for data recording and information retrieval.· Assist, support and/or coordinate activities relating to FCC Live Well initiatives, among other initiatives. · Facilitate a minimum of 3 presentations to a group (minimum of 7 attendees) per semester.· Network with professors/instructors and other campus groups to create opportunities for presenting the educational programs.· Participate in individual and group supervision.· Be a resource to fellow students.

Required Minimum Qualifications: 1. Currently enrolled FCC student

Desired Qualifications: 1. Excellent customer service and communication skills 2. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 3. Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately 4. Ability to multitask and capable of managing multiple priorities 5. Ability to work independently and as a member of a team 6. Ability to lift 50 lbs 7. Knowledge of campus resources

Work Schedule: Flexible during the operating hours of 8:30-4:30 Monday to Friday
