About the Team:

You’ll be part of a wider Advisory and HQ team, working alongside Student Advisors, Course Unit Advisors, and the Student Mentor Coordinator. The team supports 40–50 Student Mentors across different courses and study levels.

About the Role:

This is a hands-on student-facing role where you’ll help shape the experience and development of our Student Mentors. You’ll recruit, induct, train, and support the team, while also coordinating shifts and making sure the program runs smoothly across campuses. It’s a great role for someone who enjoys working closely with students, building capability, and improving how learning is delivered. You’ll also have the chance to contribute to the ongoing development of online learning modules and training content.

Position Key Duties:

•    Recruit, induct, train, and support Student Mentors. 

•    Schedule and approve Student Mentor shifts across multiple campuses. 

•    Maintain accurate records of recruitment documents, training attendance, and project materials. 

•    Develop, refine, and deliver engaging training content, including online learning modules and multimedia resources. 

•    Provide leadership, coaching, and general direction to the Student Mentor team. 

Position Details:

•    Classification: HEP 6 

•    Salary: $91,796 - $99,361 

•    Employment Type: Full-time fixed term position ending 13 April 2027. 

•    Hours per Week: 36.75 

•    Location: Footscray Park Campus.

About You:

•    We’d love to hear from someone who has worked in peer-to-peer mentoring, student support, training, or a similar coordination role, ideally in a university or education setting. 

•    The ideal person will be confident working with diverse student groups, bringing strong interpersonal skills, sound judgement, and a genuine commitment to helping others grow. 

•    You’ll be organised, collaborative, and comfortable working independently when needed, while also knowing when to seek guidance or escalate issues.
