Job Description Summary

Provides health care services on a full-time or part-time basis in an owned or affiliated health care entity of Penn Medicine or The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Provides inpatient hospital services as required and fulfills all medico-administrative duties associated with membership on each hospital medical staff of which clinician is a member. May participate in a minimum of 50 hours per year of active and high quality teaching or equivalent service. Performs prompt, courteous and competent professional services in accordance with generally accepted professional standards for such services and with the standards established from time to time. Maintains license to practice medicine without restriction or limitation in Pennsylvania, Delaware, or location of affiliates, if applicable.

As a Emergency Department Pediatrician/Attending Physician, providing direct patient care in the assigned Emergency Department(s) affiliated with the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia.

Maintains license to practice medicine without restriction or limitation in Pennsylvania or location of affiliates, if applicable.

Responsibilities:

  • Expected to work the agreed upon number of annual clinical hours along with overseeing support personnel to provide exceptional care to the all levels of acuity of the pediatric population.
  • Expected to be an active member of the Division and be involved in operational, quality and patient safety initiatives and participate in Divisional meetings. Opportunities exist to enable an appointment in the Clinical track, if teaching requirements are met on an agreed upon on an annual basis.

Qualifications:

M.D.; License to practice medicine without restriction or limitation in Pennsylvania; Delaware. DEA Licensure. 0-1 year of work experience of related experience in a specified medical field. Must be Board certified/eligible in Pediatric Emergency Medicine.
