Job Description

  • Employment Type: Full time, full time 2-year contract
  • Remuneration: $88k- $110k + 17% super + leave loading (dependent on experience)
  • Location: Kensington, NSW (Hybrid Working)

Why Your Role Matters

As a People Officer, you will deliver people-focused support across key moments in the employee lifecycle, for both our Academic and Professional staff. Bringing your existing understand of HR practices, you’ll work in a dynamic environment across a variety of HR operational activities of your client group.

Operating as part of a collaborative People Experience team, you’ll co-ordinate responses to People & Culture queries through a centralised service model, this is a great opportunity to develop your HR career in a large and supportive organisation, where learning and growth is strongly encouraged.

Your day to day includes:

  • Acting as the first point of contact for general HR requests to offer an exceptional employee experience, confidently applying policy or directing queries.
  • Interpreting and implementing the University’s policies and procedures, collaborating with the Business Partnering Team.
  • Co-ordinating core people-processes such as onboarding, contract management, and employment transitions.
  • Building strong and effective relationships with stakeholders and colleagues alongside dedicated Partnering Team.
  • Providing broad HR administrative support across matters such as leave, contracts, hires and promotions support, monitoring compliance and trends.
  • Maintaining data on the HRIS, ensuring employee data is consistent and compliant.

Who You Are

We're looking for a strong communicator with existing HR generalist experience; this is a diverse role with the opportunity to offer HR administration support and implement continuous improvement across processes.

You'll have:

  • A relevant degree and previous experience in a HR administration role
  • Excellent stakeholder management with experience in people-focused or service-oriented environment.
  • Proven ability in multitasking and managing different priorities whilst maintaining service quality.
  • Service-centred approach across query management, with a proactive and problem-solving mindset
  • Understanding of HR practices and practiced application.
  • High attention to detail to accurately draft and prepare HR related documentation
