Call for applications for a PhD student position within the OPUS 30 project (No. 2025/59/B/NZ4/02602) at the Eugeniusz Piasecki University of Physical Education in Poznań, Department of Neuromuscular Physiotherapy; contract type: research scholarship.
Our requirements:
- student enrolled in a full-time or part-time second-cycle (Master’s) degree program at a university in Poland;
- student in at least the fourth year of a full-time or part-time uniform Master’s degree program at a university in Poland;
- doctoral student participating in a doctoral program conducted by an authorized university unit, an institute of the Polish Academy of Sciences, a research institute, or an international research institute operating in Poland and established under separate regulations;
- participant in a doctoral seminar currently working on a doctoral dissertation;
- higher education graduate holding a Master’s degree (MA or MSc/MSc Eng.) in a scientific discipline related to neurophysiology—specifically in biological sciences, medical biology, medical sciences, health sciences, physical culture sciences, biomedical engineering, or psychology;
- certificate of student or doctoral student status;
- Master’s degree (MA or MSc/MSc Eng.) in a scientific discipline related to neurophysiology—specifically in biological sciences, medical biology, medical sciences, health sciences, physical culture sciences, biomedical engineering, or psychology;
- good command of English (minimum B2 level);
- proficiency in using data analysis software (familiarity with Spike2 software is an additional asset); basic knowledge of research methods and techniques used in the neurophysiology of the nervous and neuromuscular systems, particularly in the fields of anatomy, physiology, cell biology, physics, neuroinformatics, or computational neuroscience;
- availability and willingness to work flexible hours;
Scope of duties
- analysis of the neurophysiological profile of motor units and spinal excitability in humans undergoing whole-body vibration training combined with transspinal direct current stimulation (tsDCS);
- conducting neurophysiological experiments under the supervision of the project manager;
- assisting in the organization of the laboratory and the research setup;
- preparing neurophysiological experiments;
- data analysis and assistance in the preparation of publications;
- presenting results at national and international conferences and meetings.
