Your Role on the Team

Position Summary: The phlebotomist II performs pre-analytic phases of clinical specimen collection (including arterial blood collection) and preparation primarily in an out-patient setting but may be requested to work in other areas of the lab as needed.

What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:

• Technical knowledge of lab procedures, functions and processes gained through education, experience or a combination of the two
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• State of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech II)
• State of California Phlebotomy License (Certified Phlebotomy Tech I)
• Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
• Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
• Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prefer one year of phlebotomy experience or completion of UCI phlebotomy program
• Prefer one year of phlebotomy II experience or completion

Licenses and Certifications:

• Certified Phlebotomy Tech II
