Class Description

CCBC is currently seeking a qualified individual to teach various Physical Science lecture and lab courses including Earth Science, Environmental Science, and Geography. Ability to teach other science classes a plus. Fifteen credit hours of instruction per semester, office hours, college and community service, and ongoing professional development are required. The position is located on one of our campuses but may require teaching classes at other locations scheduled during days, evenings or weekends.

Preferred candidates are enthusiastic about content and pedagogy, use best teaching practices, and are committed to student learning. Preference will be given to applicants who present evidence of excellence in teaching, experience at the Community College level, and those who through education and experience demonstrate ability to teach across multiple Physical Science disciplines. Minimum Requirements

Master's degree in Environmental Science, Earth Science, Geography, or a related field with significant relevant coursework required. Two years of teaching Environmental Science, Earth Science, Geography or a related field at the high school level or above preferred.

Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to work effectively with colleagues and students. The ability to teach multiple Physical Science courses. Experience working with diverse populations in a learning environment and experience with the use of technology in teaching science.

Must be able to operate science laboratory equipment.
