Police Officer
Job Summary
To provide a safe and secure college campus, through professional and standard procedures.
Principal Accountabilities
- First Line field police officer.
- Patrols college campus in an efficient process, to deter criminal acts.
- Responds to calls for assistance, investigate in an efficient and effective manner.
- Takes initial report of criminal acts, prepares and submits written reports.
- Assist other outside agencies.
- Will work day, evening or night shift.
- Enforce the laws of The State of Texas.
- Testifies in court as needed.
- Manages crime scene, preserves and collects evidence.
- Performs related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or Certifications
- High school graduation or equivalent.
- Basic TCOLE certification.
Minimum Competencies
- Possess the ability to use a variety of police and clerical equipment.
- Have the ability to communicate effectively with all segments of the college.
- Must be in good physical condition.
- Have the ability to function under stressful conditions.
- State of Texas Class C Driver license.
- Ability to work within a team environment
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with instructors, staff, administration, students, the general public and outside agencies.
- Have the ability to function under stressful conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associates degree
- Two years of police experience.

This is a 12 month, benefits eligible position. Blinn College pays 100% of health insurance for full time employees, 50% for dependents, and two times your annual salary in life insurance benefits.
