Location: Modern Slavery and Human Rights Policy and Evidence Centre, Stephen A. Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, Radcliffe Observatory Quarter, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG

Contract type: Fixed Term until 31 March 2027.

Hours: Full time (37.5 hours per week), part time will be considered with a minimum of 0.8 FTE.

The Modern Slavery and Human Rights Policy and Evidence Centre (PEC) is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Policy Impact Manager to join its policy impact team at the University of Oxford.

The PEC was established to bridge the gap between research and policymaking in the field of modern slavery and human trafficking, taking a human rights-based approach. Now part of Oxford’s Humanities Division and the Schwarzman Centre for the Humanities, the Centre has an ambitious vision to expand its influence across modern slavery and wider human rights policy.

The role: Working closely with the Policy Impact Lead, you will monitor policy and legislative developments, identify opportunities to shape research agendas, and maximise the impact of the Centre’s research on public policy. You will build and maintain relationships with policymakers, including UK Government departments, and support engagement throughout the lifecycle of research projects.

The role includes producing accessible policy-facing outputs such as policy briefs and evidence submissions, advising researchers on policy engagement strategies, facilitating dialogue between researchers and decision-makers, and contributing to the development of research calls and funding proposals aligned with policy priorities. You will also support the monitoring and evaluation of policy impact and help ensure policy communications align with the Centre’s strategy.

About you: You will have experience working at the interface of research and public policy, with expertise in modern slavery or human rights and a strong understanding of UK policymaking processes. You will be highly research literate, an excellent communicator, and able to build effective professional relationships with a wide range of stakeholders. Strong organisational skills, sound judgement, and the ability to manage multiple priorities are essential.

Experience in policymaking, the third sector, impact evaluation, or engagement with people with lived experience of human rights violations would be an advantage.

Salary: £39,424 - £47,779 pro rata
