"Porter A"

Position Summary

Under general direction, the Porter A will primarily be responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of Columbia University apartment buildings and grounds area.

Responsibilities

• Specific job duties will be to clean and maintain building and grounds complex--elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, floors, laundry rooms, vacant apartments and offices (occupied, or unoccupied), etc;
• Trim trees and shrubs; fertilize, seed and mow lawn;
• Sweep and hose sidewalks, and remove snow and spread salt as needed.
• The incumbent will also perform other related duties as assigned.
• Heavy lifting may be required.

Minimum Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency certification required.
• Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance a plus.
• Excellent communication skills necessary.

Salary Range: $29.77 -$29.77
