Post-Doc Trainee
Position Summary:
The UNC Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center, founded in 1975, is a National Cancer Institute (NCI)-designated comprehensive cancer center. The Center’s mission is to reduce cancer occurrence and death in North Carolina and the nation through research, treatment, training, and outreach.
This position is to conduct cancer biology research on Epstein-Barr virus and Kaposi sarcoma-associated herpesvirus. The position involves working with these oncogenic viruses and immune cells to understand how these viruses cause cancer and how they evade host immunity.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
PhD in Cancer Biology or related field
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:
Experience working with mammalian cell culture, microscopy, and virological assays is required. Also require prior knowledge of working with HIV.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience:
Other techniques the applicant should be familiar with are flow cytometry, viral genetics, and cloning. The employee should be able to perform all these functions independently and be able to train other personnel.
