Post-Doctoral Associate - BTI
About the Job
The postdoctoral research position will closely work with Dr. Satoshi Ishii at the BioTechnology Institute. This is a full-time research position. Lab work includes the design and operation of bioreactors for removing nutrients and N2O from water and wastewater (20%), analyzing water quality (20%), characterizing key microbes responsible for nitrogen removal (20%), studying microbial population dynamics in the bioreactors (20%), and writing peer-reviewed scientific papers (20%).
Qualifications
Required:
- Ph.D. in environmental engineering, environmental microbiology and related fields
- Experience with laboratory-scale bioreactor design and operation
- Excellent communication skills in English
Preferred:
- Research experience on N2O mitigation
- Experience in using molecular microbial ecology techniques such as qPCR, metagenomics, and metatranscriptomics
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $61,008+ ; depending on education/qualifications/experience
Time Appointment Category: 100% Appointment
