Post Doctoral Associate (Jones Lab) - Molecular Glue Degraders
The Jonesy lab in the Chemistry Department of NYU is looking for a talented post-doctoral associate to perform interdisciplinary work on studying RNA structure, RNA-protein interactions, and dynamics, with a molecular glue focus.
Successful applicants will be highly motivated with an interest in working in Chemical/Structural Biology and must hold a Ph.D. degree in a related field (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology, Biophysics). The ideal candidate will have strong research experience, publications, and background knowledge in:
- Experiences in construct design, cloning, protein expression and purification; in vitro RNA transcription and purification
- Experience in structure determination (NMR, X-ray crystallography, and/or cryo-EM) and running biophysical binding assays
- Experience with studying and screening of PROTACs and/or molecular glue degraders
- Experience with cellular biology
The candidate will also help with mentorship and training graduate and undergraduate students.
The terms of employment, which would be a year, with a possibility of renewal, include a competitive salary and other benefits (including access to subsidized NYU housing in NYC). Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis beginning Sept 2025, and candidates will be considered until the position is filled. The candidate would be fully supported by current funding, and the start date could be immediate, if necessary.
In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, this position's annual base salary range is $62,500 – $63,500. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) the specific grant funding and the terms of the research grant when extending an offer.
Ph.D. degree in a related field (e.g., Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Biology).
