Post-Doctoral Associate
Primary responsibilities include designing and conducting human intervention studies, managing and analyzing data, and assisting with grants and manuscripts. There is an opportunity to extend the appointment after one year.
Focus of Job Responsibilities
Ongoing Research (70%)
- Design and conduct clinical studies that advance our research objectives.
- Implement and validate methods for assessing dietary intake, anthropometry and body composition, metabolic and clinical biomarkers, and gut microbiome outcomes.
- Assist the PI in drafting IRB protocols, standard operating procedures, manuscripts, and grants.
- Ensure intervention fidelity and protocol adherence across clinical research sites and study staff.
- Oversee recruitment, data collection and management.
- Participate in or lead meetings with collaborators on projects.
- Analyze data and develop figures and tables for publications and grants.
Scientific Writing and Presentation (20%)
- Write scientific manuscripts.
- Generate research posters and presentations.
- Assist the PI with grant applications.
Training and Development (5%)
- Participate in professional development opportunities.
- Communicate research findings and expertise to different audiences.
Other (5%)
- Mentor students or research professionals involved in the research project.
- Interact with and broaden the Teigen Lab’s network of collaborators.
- Participate in community outreach.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Has a PhD in Nutrition Science or a related field
- Experience with randomized clinical trials
- Expertise in data analysis
- Record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and demonstrated evidence of ability to work effectively with collaborators and diverse research teams
- Ability to work independently
- Strong organizational and communication (verbal, written) skills
- Attentive to detail
- Must be willing to live in Minnesota
Preferred Qualifications
- Has experience working with participants
Work Profile
Profile 2 is expected to work in a hybrid arrangement, combining on-site and remote work based on operational needs. The dedicated workspace will include both the assigned on-site location and the remote work location.
About the Department
The Teigen Lab is seeking a postdoctoral associate to assist with clinical studies that investigate diet-microbiome interactions and effect of microbiome-targeted diet therapy on gut microbiome and metabolic and clinical biomarkers. We have several ongoing projects that are available for the successful candidate based on their interest and goals.
Pay and Benefits
Pay Range: $62,232, annually, depending on education/qualifications/experience
