Minimum Education and Experience:

• Requires a doctorate in plant biochemistry, molecular biology, or an allied field.
• Requires in-depth understanding and hands-on experience in preparation and analysis of proteins, nucleic acids, and complexes thereof.
• Requires in-depth understanding and hands-on experience in molecular cloning and sequencing.
• In-depth understanding of various genomic tools including sample preparation, data collection, and data processing, preferred.
• Experience in handling various genomic datasets.
• Effective spoken and written English required.
• High level of computer literacy required.

The individual must be able to navigate the highly complex and often unpredictable nature of scientific research, as well as the management challenges associated with leading a large and diverse research team. The incumbent is expected to address issues arising in long-term, mid-term, and day-to-day experimentation and management by critically analyzing problems, conducting research, seeking expert advice when needed, and making well-informed recommendations to the Principal Investigator (PI).
