May review and evaluate the effectiveness of personnel. 5. May plan for and assign personnel to projects under control. 6. Operates with latitude for unreviewed action. 7. May receive general supervision conferring with higher levels only in unusual situations. 8. Performs other job-related duties as required.
Position Overview
We invite applications for a postdoctoral research position focused on experimental investigation of concrete materials. This position offers an exciting opportunity to conduct cutting-edge research in concrete technology and contribute to advancing our understanding of cementitious materials’ behavior and performance. The successful candidate will join a dynamic research group and work on a project to address critical challenges in sustainable concrete.
Research Focus
The postdoctoral researcher will lead experimental investigations into concrete materials, with emphasis on mixture design optimization and mechanical property characterization. The position involves both fundamental research and applied studies with industry collaborations.
Key Responsibilities
The postdoctoral researcher will design and execute experimental programs involving concrete mixing, specimen preparation, and comprehensive materials testing. Responsibilities include developing testing protocols, operating laboratory equipment for mechanical testing, collecting and analyzing experimental data, and documenting findings through peer-reviewed publications and technical reports. The researcher will also contribute to grant proposal development, mentor graduate students in laboratory procedures, and present research results in conferences. Collaboration with faculty members and industry partners on funded research projects is expected.
Requirements
- PhD in Civil Engineering with a focus on concrete materials and structures.
- Experience with concrete mixing and laboratory testing.
- Experience with statistical analysis of experimental data and optimization techniques.
