The Infrastructure and Sustainability group at The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST) has 1 to 2 openings for the position of Post-doctoral Fellow. The group is taking system-based approaches to understand the environmental sustainability of our cities and the built environment. We are answering how we can improve our urban infrastructure system that better meet the demand while reducing the environmental impacts. Our research is synthesizing interdisciplinary knowledge to improve our understanding of key dynamics governing urban sustainability and offer insights into what should be done on an urban scale to gain more sustainability benefits.
We are looking for highly motivated scholars who have a PhD degree with expertise in building energy modeling. Scholars with cross-disciplinary experience (e.g., urban heat modeling, computing methods, and techno-economic analysis) are highly encouraged to apply for this position. The major responsibility of the Post-doctoral Fellow is to develop a co-simulation method for building energy modeling and outdoor thermal environment in the content of Hong Kong high-rise built environment. (Duration: 1 year, renewable subject to satisfactory performance)
Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.
