Post-Doctoral Fellow
Postdoctoral Scholar to support epidemiological research related to multiple animal species and public health. The Postdoctoral Researcher will be expected to conduct research and provide technical assistance to the PI, students, and trainees as needed.
The main roles for the individual hired for this position will include: 1) collecting and organizing data for research activities, which may involve driving to farms and collecting different types of samples for research purposes; 2) collaborating with the PI in the generation and testing of research hypotheses and data analysis, writing of papers, grants, and reports, and preparation of presentations and lectures; 3) attending, participating, or presenting at laboratory meetings, seminars, graduate and undergraduate lectures, and conferences as needed; 4) performing miscellaneous office duties as assigned by the PI including, but not limited to, ordering supplies and helping the PI in the organization and coordination of meetings and projects; 5) maintaining frequent communication with other faculty and collaborators including students, veterinarians and farmers; and 6) helping with teaching responsibilities related to preventive medicine and epidemiology including reviewing lectures, assignments and rubric, and grading.
Work hours will typically occur between normal business hours but may occasionally require early morning and late evening travel.
This position is available for one year with the possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and availability of funds.

Minimum Qualifications:
PhD in epidemiology or a related field.
Desired Qualifications:
Familiarity with programing language (Stata/R/SAS.); experience in veterinary epidemiology, qualitative research approaches, excellent oral/written communication, leadership and interpersonal skills, and demonstrated ability to work in teams. Candidate need to have a valid Drivers License to drive in the US for research projects.
