Post Doctoral Scholar to join the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry at The Ohio State University studying Chemistry. The Post Doctoral Scholar will embark on a program of independent research with the primary goal to new electrosynthetic reactions applicable to organic synthesis. Duties will include conducting laboratory work centered around developing new organic reactions; leading manuscript preparation for submission to peer-reviewed journals; and mentoring undergraduate and graduate students. Other responsibilities include presenting at group meetings and subgroups.

Qualifications:

PhD in chemistry or a related field by the time of hire is required, along with a strong theoretical or practical background in organic synthesis. Demonstrated experience operating and conducting synthetic chemistry; excellent verbal and written communication skills; and a collaborative mentality towards research and mentoring.

Desired skills and techniques include organic synthesis and experience with metal catalysts. These required and desired skills should be demonstrated through a record of peer-reviewed publications.
