Activities and context: The post-doctoral fellow will conduct a critical and comparative study of urban-center regeneration plans in Brazilian cities, focusing on the urban planning, regulatory, and operational instruments adopted. Activities will include bibliographic and documentary research, the development and analysis of a comparative database, and an assessment of Campinas Complementary Law No. 395/2022 (Retrofit Law). The fellow will also contribute to reports, articles, technical notes, and methodological integration across the project’s research strands.

Mandatory requirements: Academic background in Architecture and Urbanism. PhD in Architecture and Urbanism, Urban Planning, or Urban Management. Excellent academic record and research experience in urban planning, urban policy, or the history of urban planning, including bibliographic and documentary research and the analysis of urban planning and regulatory instruments. Oral and written fluency in Portuguese. Residence in the State of São Paulo during the fellowship period and availability to participate in in-person research activities in Campinas.

Desirable requirements: Experience with georeferencing and geoprocessing tools applied to urban studies, including the organization, processing, analysis, and spatial representation of data. Strong academic track record, with publications in well-regarded scientific journals in Architecture and Urbanism, Urban Planning, or related fields.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 12,570.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
