Postdoctoral Opportunity in Advanced Material-Based Composites for Wastewater Treatment
Job description
This exciting postdoctoral opportunity focuses on the research and development of advanced material-based composites specifically designed for wastewater treatment through the innovative use of piezocatalysis. The successful candidate will engage in cutting-edge research to understand, design, and optimize composite materials that can significantly enhance the efficiency of wastewater purification processes by leveraging the piezocatalytic phenomenon an emerging technology with great potential for sustainable environmental remediation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Material Design and Optimization: Develop, synthesize, and characterize novel composite materials that exhibit enhanced piezocatalytic activity, with an emphasis on improving degradation rates of pollutants, reducing energy consumption, and increasing durability in wastewater treatment applications.
- Experimental Work: Conduct laboratory experiments to evaluate the piezocatalytic performance of developed materials, including tests under various mechanical stress conditions and contaminant types.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Analyze experimental results comprehensively, prepare scientific reports, and publish findings in reputable journals to contribute to the scientific community’s understanding of piezocatalytic systems.
- Collaborative Projects: Work closely with interdisciplinary team members, including environmental engineers, material scientists, and chemists, to foster innovative approaches in wastewater remediation.
- Supervision and Mentorship: Supervise and mentor Master's and Ph.D. students involved in related research projects, providing guidance on experimental procedures, data interpretation, and scholarly writing.
- Academic Activities: Participate in seminars, workshops, and conferences to present research findings and expand professional networks.
- Project Management: Contribute to the planning, budgeting, and execution of research projects, ensuring milestones and objectives are met efficiently.
Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. in Materials Science, Environmental Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in synthesis and characterization of nanomaterials or composites.
- Strong background in piezocatalysis, environmental remediation, or related disciplines.
- Excellent scientific communication skills, with a good publications.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary research environment.
- Demonstrated mentorship and supervisory skills are desirable.
