Postdoctoral Positions in Computational Materials Science
The Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology (BCMB) at the University of Georgia (UGA) invites applications for postdoctoral research associates in computational materials science.
Research Areas
Successful candidates will work at the interface of AI, computation, materials science, biomaterials, chemistry, and biology, with opportunities spanning:
- AI for rapid discovery of functional materials, such as biomaterials
- Computational materials sciences
- Integrative modeling combining theory, computation, and experiment
Projects emphasize both methodological development and chemically/biologically relevant applications, with access to high-performance computing resources and strong interdisciplinary collaborations.
Qualifications
Ph.D. in computational materials, chemistry, biology, engineering, computer science, applied mathematics, or a closely related field. Strong background in one or more of: machine learning, high-throughput materials discovery, materials science/engineering, molecular modeling, computational design of bioinspired materials, or biomaterial data analysis; Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment; Experience with Python, C/C++, or related scientific programming languages preferred.
Environment
UGA’s BCMB department offers a collaborative and vibrant research environment, with close interactions across biology, chemistry, materials, mathematics, and data science. The city of Athens offers a high quality of life and is consistently ranked among the best college towns in the U.S.
How to Apply
