Postdoctoral Research Scientist
The Department of Ecology, Evolution, and Environmental Biology (E3B) at Columbia University seeks applications for a postdoctoral position at the rank of Postdoctoral Research Scientist to study the temperature responses of symbiotic nitrogen fixation and the respiratory carbon cost of symbiotic nitrogen fixation. Funded by an NSF grant on this topic, the successful applicant will work jointly with Drs. Duncan Menge and Kevin Griffin, along with other lab members and collaborators.
Qualifications
A PhD in ecology, biogeochemistry, plant physiology, or a related field is required. Extensive knowledge about and experience with nitrogen cycling, carbon cycling, and symbiotic nitrogen fixation are desired. Strong preference will be given to candidates with outstanding skills in the following areas: analysis of gas flux data, statistics, coding in R, scientific writing and publication, oral communication, hands-on experience with gas analyzers (Licor, Picarro, etc.).
