Postdoctoral Research Associate in Algebraic Geometry (Fixed Term)

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics, University of Cambridge. The position will be funded by the EPSRC Frontier grant. The postholder will work within the Algebraic Geometry group of Professor Dhruv Ranganathan.

Duties include developing and conducting an individual program of research. There may be opportunities for lecturing at Masters level, assisting with student research projects or delivering small-group teaching.

You will be expected to plan and manage your own research and administration, with guidance if required. You must be able to communicate material of a technical nature and be able to build internal and external contacts.

The successful candidates will have a proven record of internationally outstanding research and a PhD (within the last three years or to soon be completed) in mathematics and experience in algebraic geometry and nearby area.

Start Date: 01 September 2026 (or by negotiation).

Limit of tenure: The funds for this position are available for 1 year.
