Description:

The experimental high-energy physics group at the University of Oklahoma invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate position on the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. The analysis activities of the group are currently focused on studies of the Higgs/electroweak sector and top quark, as well as searches for BSM physics. The group has extensive experience in silicon strip and pixel detector technology, and currently participates in the Phase II upgrade of the ATLAS pixel detector. In addition, the university hosts an ATLAS tier-2 computing center.

The successful applicant will work with Dr. Jackson Burzynski in the areas of dark sector physics and unconventional signatures, as well as contribute to the development of track reconstruction algorithms for the HL-LHC and future colliders. The candidate is expected to work closely with our graduate students and other personnel. The initial appointment will be for 2 years, renewable to a total of 5 years, contingent on satisfactory performance and continued availability of funds. A generous travel/research budget will be available to the successful applicant. The position may be based either at CERN or Oklahoma.
