Postdoctoral Research Associate
The Opportunity:
As a Post-doctoral scholar in the Wyrick Lab, a successful candidate will develop his/her own project investigating how DNA damage is formed and repaired in chromatin on a genome-wide scale. The successful candidate will be highly motivated and enjoy a collaborative atmosphere with the lab and the School of Molecular Biosciences.
Summary of Duties:
- Investigating how nucleosome positioning and histone modifications regulate the repair of DNA.
- Presenting the research through poster/oral presentation and peer-reviewed publication.
- Designing, carrying out, and troubleshooting experiments in the lab.
- Demonstrating commitment to promoting diversity in the workplace.
- Coordinate, manage, and maintain daily lab operations.
- Oversee quality control, make suggestions for improvement in techniques and interpretation.
- Supervise undergraduate/graduate students in the lab.
- Perform other duties as required.
Additional Information:
This is a full time (100% FTE), temporary position. This position is overtime eligible. Temporary End Date: This is a temporary position expected to end on October 31, 2026. Renewal is dependent on the need for extension and/or if additional funding is secured to extend employment. Annual Salary: $55,000 - $65,000 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
Required Qualifications:
- Earned PhD in a life sciences field.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a wet lab.
