Exciting opportunity for a Research Fellow to contribute to a research program focused on Digital Health, Public Health, Health Equity and Health Care
Base Salary Level B: starting from $127,436 + 17% superannuation
About the opportunity
The Westmead Applied Research Centre is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to apply and refine their expertise in research methodologies, design and delivery to contribute to the university's standing as a national leader in the discipline. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work closely with the Academic Director of WARC, Prof Clara Chow AM, as well as collaborating with team members and partners on key projects within the research program.
Your key responsibilities will be to:
- conduct original research independently or as part of a team, focusing on publication, conference presentations and securing research funding
- maintain a research profile through publication of book chapters, peer-reviewed journal articles and conference or seminar papers
- develop research collaborations and engage in translational research that leads to knowledge transfer, commercialisation or improvements to policy and practice
- contribute to applications for competitive research grants or funding to deliver research impact
- maintain quality, standards and excellence in research activities and outputs
- provide informal mentoring and guidance to lower-level academics and supervise postgraduate research students or projects where appropriate
- carry out administrative tasks and contribute to faculty or school meetings
- contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled
- understand and contribute to furthering the university and faculty or school strategic agenda
- contribute expertise through communication of scholarship with industry, forums of public debate, public events, seminars and conferences
- undertake other duties and contribute to projects appropriate within the classification level as required.
About you
- PhD in Digital Health, Public Health, Health Equity, or other relevant fields
- demonstrate expertise and experience in undertaking health services research
- proven experience in data analysis, data interpretation, and protocol writing
- have expertise in the design and conduct of qualitative research, including qualitative studies
- demonstrate a track record of impactful research and publications in their field
- an excellent mentor for junior scientists as evidenced by supervision, mentoring, and support
- demonstrate a strong track record of effectively working in multi-disciplinary teams, industry and professional institutions, health partners, and stakeholders
- strong skills in research, planning and organisation, computer literacy, effective presentations, communication and customer service.
