Postdoctoral Researcher in Health Modelling

Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Researcher in Health Modelling, to work with a team working with Dr Ben Amies-Cull on a research programme on the Cities for Better Health: Child Obesity Prevention Initiative (COPI).

The successful applicant will develop the simulation model capabilities using the PRIMEtime structure to estimate the impacts of the suite of interventions being implemented in COPI, for five cities in Brazil, Canada, South Africa, Spain, and Japan. Responsibilities will include working with our international partners to prepare data requirements for the model, run analyses and prepare the work for publication.

You will have a PhD/DPhil in health modelling, or related subject such as health economics or public health. You will need strong data analysis skills (such as in STATA and/or R) and understanding of Markov model principles.

You will be based in the Gibson Building, Nuffield Department of Primary Care Health Sciences, Woodstock Road, Oxford, OX2 6GG as your normal place of work, but you will be able to agree a pattern of regular remote working with your line manager.

The position is funded from January 2026 until 31 December 2027 in the first instance.
